Blog # 2 Which biome would you most like to visit? Why?

Some problems in the fresh water biome are pollution (caused by humans), bacteria (medical problems) and over fishing. Some examples of pollution can be industrial waste, oil leakage or just plain littering. So would like to visit the biome water pollution problem to see if i can help the community out by getting it cleaner

Describe some of the relationships between organisms you believe are happening on campus. Give at least three examples

Gio,Danielle,Pricilla,Justine-Well all living animals effect our Enviroment a few are : Birds, ants, and even some plants
Such as Weeds. The animal has the greatest impact since agriculture represents a way of organizing the environment to produce food, and this includes crops and livestock animals.
The animal effects the plants because it would use the flower as its meal.

Some flowers become quite large, and so you must space them some distance apart in your flower bed. Others don't mind being crowded, and can be planted very closely. Flowers also differ in the amount of sunlight they prefer.When you've chosen an appropriate spot for your flowers and have prepared the soil, dig a hole that is 5-6 inches from flat ground. You also cannot over water the plant. Always make sure they get enough water and sunlight.

Should we spend the money we do on water treatment?

In the financial year 2009/10 WaterAid’s total income was 45.6 million. This is actually good, you do not want want dirty water. For example when washing your hand, in the shower, or just drinking tap water. If we don't spend enough money for water treatment most of us would be sick, and always dirty.

How far should the government go in isolating people with an infectios diseases? Should the army be involved?

I feel that the Government should be doing everything possible to prevent any infections/diseases from spreading. I would say go as far as they need to, as in passing out certain laws that the people with those infections/diseases can't be around others, unless there infection/disease isn't all that serious as others. I really don't think that the army has to do anything.

Dust bowl

Most areas identified as dust bowls were put into agriculture in periods of relatively high rainfall, and failed badly when climate shifted to slightly less rainfall. The original plant live of these areas had very deep root structures and allowed water to penetrate meters into the soil. With a change to mainly annuals the root structures had to be rebuilt each year, and in particular the early part of the year the roots were not deep enough to sustain crops through a drought. These annual grasses, our grain crops, failed to maintain the condition of the soil in several ways. The humus level progressively declined, and with it the ability of the soil to hold water, the ability of clay particles to be bound to humus, and thus prevent solid barriers to water penetration from forming was lost over several years.

The loss of topsoil and nutrients due to erosion reduces productivity, and may also reduce the soil's ability to store water for plants to draw upon between rainfall events. Off-site impacts created by sheet erosion of soil and its deposition away from the erosion site, may include crop and pasture damage, water-quality deterioration and stream, dam, lake and reservoir sedimentation. Damage to aquatic habitats is likely to follow. Sheet erosion may also result in removal of seeds or seedlings.
